- 1 large fresh artichoke
- Lemon juice
- Trim ends from artichoke. Heat a small amount of water in a small saucepan. Add salt and lemon juice.
- Place artichoke upside-down in saucepan, cover and simmer until tender.
- Carefully remove fibrous center and discard. You can eat the fleshy part of the leaves and the heart.
- Serve artichokes with a dipping sauce if desired.
