Steamed Artichoke


  • 1 large fresh artichoke
  • Salt
  • Lemon juice


  1. Trim ends from artichoke. Heat a small amount of water in a small saucepan. Add salt and lemon juice.
  2. Place artichoke upside-down in saucepan, cover and simmer until tender.
  3. Carefully remove fibrous center and discard. You can eat the fleshy part of the leaves and the heart.
  4. Serve artichokes with a dipping sauce if desired.
