Channa Sauté

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans channa (chickpeas), rinsed
  • 1 – 2 red chilies, halved
  • 1 tsp. urad dal
  • 1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
  • 2 – 3 curry leaves
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • salt to taste

OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 – 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 – 3 Tbsp. fresh lime juice
  • 1 Tbsp. cilantro, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in skillet and add mustard seeds, cumin, urad dal, chilies, and curry leaves.
  2. Fry for a few minutes and add channa. Add salt to taste.
  3. Place in bowl and stir in other ingredients of your choice.
