Breakfast on the Go Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. quick oats
  • 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 c. whole wheat flour
  • 2 Tbsp. ground flaxseeds
  • 1/2 c. Grape-Nuts cereal
  • 1/2 c. Fiber-One cereal
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. dark brown sugar
  • 2 c. dried fruits – blueberries, cherries, cranberries and plums
  • 4 Tbsp. toasted wheat germ
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 c. ground almonds
  • 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 c. honey
  • 1 Tbsp. pure maple syrup
  • 2 Tbsp. sesame tahini
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla

Instructions:

  • In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients. Mix the wet ingredients and add. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
  • Pour into a 9 x 13-inch glass baking dish that has been sprayed with vegetable oil spray. Bake at 325 degrees F for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Let cool, then cut into bars.
