Baked Apple Leather

Ingredients:

  • 5 lb. assorted apples
  • natural sugar
  • lemon juice
  • cinnamon
  • nutmeg
  • food coloring, optional

Instructions:

  1. Peel and cut apples into chunks. In a medium saucepan, bring apples and water to a boil and simmer for about 5 minutes. Drain and place in food processor.
  2. Add about 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 tablespoons lemon juice for every 4 cups apples. Add spices of choice and food coloring if desired. Process until very smooth.
  3. Spread on plastic-lined baking tray as thinly as possible. Bake at 150 degrees F for 8 – 10 hours, or until dry to the touch. Cut and roll up.
