Q. Why Doesn’t God Answer My Prayers in the Way That I Ask?
A. Beginning with the book of Genesis and ending with the last book of the Bible (Revelation), the accounts are recorded of Satan’s never-ending attempts to distort the truth and blacken the character of God. The good news is that God is not the kind of person that Satan has made Him out to be.
Satan likes nothing better than to have us discouraged and distrusting God. He has us just where he wants us when we fall into that trap. The situation you are in is not because God does not love you or hear your prayers. We cannot emphasize enough that God’s ways are mysterious yet He never makes a mistake. Whatever you are dealing with in your life is preparing you for a place in His kingdom. If God answered each of our prayers just as we asked, He would do us a great disservice as we would come to call upon Him just for our wants or needs.
Please allow us to take you back in time to when the book of Revelation was written by an elderly prisoner on the lonely Isle of Patmos. It hardly seems fair from the human perspective that a faithful follower of Christ like John should be imprisoned yet God used him to reveal to us the reality of the great controversy that we are living each day. The Book of Revelation tells us of Satan’s anger with those who dare to stand in the way of his efforts to deceive the world.
One day you will look back and see how God has kept His promise to never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). God wants the very best for His children, and He is working out everything for their eternal benefit.
