We are pleased to bring you live coverage of our General Conference president’s address to the crowds on February 11 at the Rubén Rodríguez Coliseum, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico.
Revival and Reformation
From the beginning of his presidency, Elder Ted N. C. Wilson shared his burden for revival and reformation with the world Seventh-day Adventist Church.
“Danny Shelton and I share the belief that Elder Ted Wilson was chosen by God to lead our church at this critical time in the history of our world,” says Jim Gilley, 3ABN president. “Our entire network is committed to supporting him as he leads God’s remnant people, especially in revival and reformation.”
During the 2010 Annual Council, church leaders voted to approve a number of initiatives, including the 777 Worldwide Holy Spirit Prayer Fellowship, urging Seventh-day Adventists to pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit’s power and presence seven days a week at 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.; Operation Global Rain, 10 days of special prayer each January; and worldwide days set aside for prayer and fasting.
“We believe that the purpose of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in latter-rain power is to finish Christ’s mission on earth so He can come quickly,” reads the 2010 Annual Council Action. “Recognizing that our Lord will pour out His Spirit in its fullness only on a Church that has a passion for lost people, we determine to place and maintain revival, reformation, discipleship, and evangelism at the top of all our church business agendas. More than anything else we long for Jesus to come.”
The action urges every church administrator and leader, each teacher, health worker, literature evangelist, chaplain, pastor, and church member, to join in making revival, reformation, discipleship, and evangelism their most urgent priorities.
“We are confident that as we seek Him together, God will pour out His Holy Spirit in abundant measure, the work of God on Earth will be finished, and Jesus will come,” it concludes. (Read the full text of this document online at revivalandreformation.org.)
Anchors of Truth in Puerto Rico
Another exciting event will take place the following week as 3ABN’s television and radio networks carry live broadcasts of a new Anchors of Truth series entitled, “Growing in Christ.” These programs will air between February 14 and 18 from the Bella Vista Church in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, with sermons by 3ABN president, Jim Gilley; 3ABN founder, Danny Shelton; John Dinzey; John Lomacang; and C. A. Murray.
“We’ve worked with church leaders in Puerto Rico since 1991 when they told us of a low-power TV station for sale in the capital city, San Juan,” says 3ABN Latino general manager, John Dinzey. He adds that the station was purchased the following year, and now reaches a potential audience of over 1.5 million!
“In 1994 the West Puerto Rico Conference purchased channel 67 and began broadcasting 3ABN,” he continues. “Then, in 2001, during a live broadcast from San Juan, we announced that we would soon be launching our 3ABN Latino network. This was 3ABN’s first live event outside the continental U.S., and a first for the Adventist Church in Puerto Rico. Past and current presidents of the local church have told us what a blessing 3ABN has been in helping spread the gospel to the people, and we’re delighted to work with them, as well.”
Please join us for this powerful series, as we see God work in marvelous ways!
