By C. A. Murray
“Our people individually must understand Bible truth more thoroughly, for they certainly will be called before councils; they will be criticized by keen and critical minds. It is one thing to give assent to the truth, and another thing, through close examination as Bible students, to know what is truth.
“We have been apprised of our dangers, of the trials and temptations just before us; and now is the time to take special pains to prepare ourselves to meet the temptations and emergencies which are just before us.”*

These solemn words, penned by Ellen White more than 120 years ago, were written at a time of great agitation within and without the Seventh-day Adventist church. However, they carry no less weight and import for us today, over a century later.
In the preceding paragraph, she refers to an up coming “Week of Prayer” and what she anticipated at those gatherings. At that time, the Week of Prayer had already been in existence for many decades. It was a part of the fabric of our nascent church.
Reigniting Our Spiritual Heritage
Now 3ABN joins hands with the Adventist Review magazine and the Seventh-day Adventist community the world over to reignite this hallowed piece of our spiritual heritage.
We live in an age when many people are reluctant to come out to church on dark fall evenings, yet they long for the worship, fellowship, and spiritual renewal that a Week of Prayer fosters. So 3ABN is proud to bring this time-honored tradition to your home. Our week of prayer sermons will follow the selected subjects in the Adventist Review’s North American Division’s Week of Prayer readings. Then we’ll add music and prayer to enhance the worship experience, but the circle will only be complete with your prayers and presence. Join us, please, each night as we come together for faith, affirmation, and revival!
