“We are thrilled to have 3ABN broadcast in Atlanta, Georgia!” exclaims 3ABN President, Jim Gilley. “This is a huge television market, and a tremendous opportunity to reach those who are really searching for answers in this troubled world.”
According to 3ABN engineer, Dan Peek, it all began when Ken Durand, a Seventh-day Adventist church member in Atlanta, called about bringing 3ABN to his city. “It looked as if a new FCC window might open up for new applications in major markets,” he says, “but unfortunately, that never happened. However, it wasn’t long before a TV station owner in Atlanta called me and offered to lease a digital channel. So I called Ken and put him in contact with the owner.”
“This has been a walk of faith as God opened doors and put people in place to help promote the program,” Ken says. “We visited over 40 Seventh-day Adventist churches in the Atlanta area, and spoke with dozens of committed individual members. After several months, God finally brought us to the launch of 3ABN Atlanta on June 10, 2011. We continue to trust God’s leading in this initiative, and with the 3ABN programs now on the air, we anticipate growing support. We are especially thankful for the First Lithonia Seventh-day Adventist Church, whose pastor and members rallied to the call.”
Dan adds, “The signal reaches over 5 million potential viewers in the Metro Atlanta area free of charge, and I pray that the Lord will continue to impress viewers in Atlanta to support this worthy project.”
Jim Gilley agrees. “I commend the faith that Ken and others in the church have shown in committing to this project. Our sincere hope is that many other church members will be inspired to do something similar in their cities. In these end-times we need to do all we can for those who still don’t know about Jesus—both abroad, and right here at home.”
