3ABN Homecoming 2012

It’s a family reunion, a homecoming weekend, and an opportunity for revival all wrapped up in one event. And in September you can experience it all on 3ABN! “Homecoming this year will be absolutely fantastic!” says Jim Gilley, 3ABN’s president. “International evangelist John Carter has just returned from Papua New Guinea where he preached to crowds of over 100,000 people—and he is excited! John is truly part of our family, and he’s coming home!”

Keynote Speaker

Pastor Carter will be the keynote speaker for this year’s 3ABN Homecoming Weekend. His ministry, The Carter Report, and 3ABN have enjoyed a long and deep ministry relationship of friendship and cooperation in preaching the gospel for many years.

John Carter

Pastor John Carter

In the early 1990s Pastor Carter invited Danny Shelton and a 3ABN crew to accompany him to Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, for the first-ever Protestant evangelistic series in that city. This event was historic in many ways, for Nizhny Novgorod had been closed to Westerners during all its Communist years. As a manufacturing base for the U.S.S.R.’s nuclear submarines and MIG fighter jets, it was strictly off-limits, but now the gospel was about to break out from here into all the ex-Soviet Union—and the world. It would also soon be home to 3ABN’s Russian Evangelism Center, a hub for television and radio productions that reach the millions of Russian-speaking around the globe.

John Carter in PNG

Pastor John Carter preaches to crowds of over 100,000 in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

Just back from Papua New Guinea, Pastor Carter addressed record crowds of over 100,000 people at the Sir John Guise Stadium in the capital city of Port Moresby. This is about a quarter of the entire population of the city, and God certainly blessed the ministry’s efforts to bring the gospel to this nation. 3ABN has had a television station in Port Moresby, and we hear from local pastors that viewers show up each week from watching our programs!

If you’ve never heard Pastor Carter preach, you owe it to yourself to do so! Here are his sermon titles for this year’s Homecoming Weekend:

Thursday – “Our Apocalyptic Age”
Friday – “The Savior and His Cross”
Saturday morning – “Going Forward in Faith”
Saturday evening – “Going Home”

Introducing Pastor Venegas

We are also happy to introduce you to the newest addition to the Carter Report Ministry, Pastor James Venegas. A fellow Australian, Pastor Venegas is already making an impression on those who hear him preach, and we’re excited to have him with us for seminars and sermons during the 2012 Homecoming!

In addition to all the spiritual food, we are thrilled to have many of our 3ABN musical family on hand to inspire and bless us throughout the weekend. We’ll also have children’s meetings for each age group, and delicious vegan meals prepared by chef Mark Anthony of Las Vegas, Nevada, assisted by an army of volunteers! If you’ve never attended a 3ABN camp meeting, we hope you’ll make plans to visit. And if you can’t be with us in person, then we invite you to tune in for a wonderful spiritual experience that will keep you coming back again and again!

My dear Sir/Madam, God be glorified. I am one of the souls who re-joined my family of Christ after I left the Seventh-day Adventist Church for one year. I was so previleged to attend the John Carter’s Amazing Discoveries of Lost Cities series, and re-joined the Adventist fellowship. Now my family is anticipating to hear more from 3ABN on the theme: Homecoming 2012. My personal prayer to my living God is about sowing more seeds into the soil of this dying planet earth, so that the seeds will germinate proudly and the Creator Himself will be pleased to come one day and harvest it. These seeds must be spread and planted by this ministry. I kindly request your special prayer over my country and family, and my current job as a policy advisor to the government of Papua New Guinea. God bless.

Dear 3ABN, when and where can I get more info on the Homecoming event? My husband and I are planning a trip from Texas and want to know if and how we can register ahead of time. Will there be meal tickets, etc? Thanks and blessings! LoAnn

Looking forward to the meetings. I may not be there in person, but I will be watching them and recording them for later note-taking and reference.
